SF: Succesfully Cloned Kitten Delivered To Texas Woman

The first cloned-to-order pet sold in the United States is named Little Nicky, a 9-week-old kitten by a San Francisco-based proprietary dedicated to cloning delivered to a Texas woman saddened by the loss of a cat she had owned for 17 years.

I saw this on the news the other night. In many ways, it's hard to believe that this type of cloning is legal.

I agree with you; it is most certainly a problem not only with the legality of it but also the fact that animals who are cloned and who do make it do not survive for nearly as long. Chances are this cat doesn't make it past 7 or 8 if we remember how Dolly died at age 6 years. It took 274 efforts before success was achieved. I don't see any need for cloning myself; exactly who are we to play God anyway? Fifty thousand dollars would have adopted a kitten from a shelter and taken care of hundreds MORE!

It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature. It's wrong to play God.

I know it. God is happy with those who don't try to alter His plans...
