I too am glad to see Lance Armstrong set this particular record...Several had reached five, incluing Spanish legend Miguel Indurain during the 1990s but nothing quite like this for Lance Armstrong, no doubt the subject of numerous cover stories and even news programmes...

It's been a great weekend so far...I would definitely have to say that Lance Armstrong has just become the combined equivalent of Wayne Gretzky, Hulk Hogan, and Bo Jackson in terms of cycling prowess...Wonder if he'll go for seven next year?

I give props to Lance too, because he has successfully recovered from testicular cancer and therefore he can take on practically ANY challenge...
He's tougher than most soldiers sailors and airmen combined, a quality of personage most will never be able to equal no matter how hard they try...

Yes, you are asking about testicular cancer; that is one of the few reproductive cancers that affect men; affecting their testes, and as it turns out the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of 15 and 35.

Yup...it has been known to happen.
Of course another thing that has been known to happen in men...and this is in very very small numbers, maybe in the hundreds to low thousands of cases annually: Breast cancer. Though not nearly quite as commonplace in men it has been known to happen, and usually the treatment is very simple given the lesser amount of tissue needing treatment...
Those who advocate testicular cancer awareness urge men to examine themselves for lumps once a month just as those who advocate breast cancer awareness urge women to do the same for themselves...

Saying he wants to spend more time with his children, Lance Armstrong said Monday he will retire from professional cycling after this summer's Tour de France.
Armstrong, 33, will attempt to win his record seventh straight Tour de France in July. His streak of six straight titles has made him a legend in the sport and an international celebrity.
